Our Manchester clinic offers a range of specialist physiotherapy services and sports therapies that aim to improve your quality of life, relieve pain, manage an existing condition, or simply restore your freedom of movement.
Whether you’re suffering from a work-related or postural problem, a sports injury, muscular or joint pain; our team of chartered physiotherapists, clinical specialists, massage therapists and our podiatrist are here to help.
Physiotherapy uses physical techniques such as exercise, massage, manipulation, mobilisation and soft tissue release to restore movement, strength and mobility and reduce pain. It focuses on conditions that affect your muscles, nerves and bones, your heart and lungs and can help you recover after an injury or surgery.
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy can help improve the symptoms of a number of problems including:
Physiotherapists are the experts in managing musculoskeletal problems. At an initial assessment, your physiotherapist will ask about your symptoms and examine you. They will then advise on the diagnosis and either offer a programme of treatment for you or advice on how you can improve the problem yourself.
A full explanation of your problem will be given to you and you will be advised on the best course of action. There are a number of different treatment techniques your physiotherapist may use and these will be individually tailored to you and your condition. If necessary, they may refer you to your GP for further investigations.
A musculoskeletal physiotherapist has an in-depth understanding of how your body moves and works, and will work closely with you to assess and treat your condition, then develop an effective, personalised plan to get you moving again. As well as treating a wide range of conditions, they can also give you advice on how to reduce pain and inflammation, prevent further injury, improve mobility, strength and flexibility, posture and physical wellbeing.
Martin joined Connect in 2007 bringing with him extensive knowledge and expertise from his time spent working with professional athletes, such as the Australian Rugby league Squad while on their Tri-Nations tour of Britain. In addition to treating private patients at Connect, Martin also works with occupational physiotherapy patients through our corporate contracts. His own experience as an amateur rugby union player gives him invaluable first-hand knowledge to effectively treat and advise patients.
